The Fabulous Wonder Mama is amazing and sparkling with joy. She was super knowledgeable about the past and present of the LGBT+ community in Australia. I was happily surprised to know that she’s an author and illustrator too, so talented in so many ways, I even got one of her books from The Bookshop Darlinghurst. I got a gift voucher for my friend's birthday and it was the best decision ever. Setsuko was a patient and knowledgeable teacher. She provided so many insights to the history of flower world from her years of experience and mixed culture from Japan. There was also an element of therapeutic effect from the class as she shared with us about her journey in the flower world. It was a beautifully curated space out of the second room in her home; it felt like I was in a flower studio/workshop room. The experience itself was great, our teacher Miyoko she was very passionate to tell about the history and the steps needed for this technique. She explained in very details each steps of the process and what utensils needed, and can be applied for other objects we have at home. She also offer the typical Japanese green tea in the mid of the session, and telling us interesting facts about Japan and her story in Sydney. A truly amazing and extremely fun experience! A great gift especially for a birthday. Hideko was a warm, kind, patient teacher that carefully went through each step of the process. The venue was a beautiful studio decorated with art created by Hideko herself. There was a great selection of coloured glass to choose from to appease everyone's palate. Creating stained glass sun catchers was very enriching, and was great value for money. Would definitely recommend!

I booked the eclairs class for my husband's birthday and it did not disappoint! We both love eating choux pastries (who doesn't?) and so I thought what better gift than an experience we could do together as well as learning a new skill. The class at La Marais was everything you would expect and more. Joel is a real deal French Pastry Master with so much experience to share. While I have baked a lot my husband is more of a beginner and I liked how Joel was able to cater to both of us. He's a great teacher. The venue was very clean and comfortable (it was cold and rainy outside). The class was really well designed, a perfect combination of hands on and 'here's one we prepared earlier' for the one part of the process that took longer than the class. We both came away feeling we had learnt how to make halloumi.
