Welcome to Blooming Cakes! I am Babette Yu a passionate cake decorator looking to share my love of beautifully designed buttercream icing.I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Performance and Sociology from the University of Sydney. After four years of academic study, I realised I am more creative with handcraft, much like my parents. I am also passionate about making my life and others around me a little bit sweeter!In 2007, I moved to Sydney from Shanghai, China. While studying, I worked for Barista Basics Coffee Academy as a barista trainer. Thanks to this great company and the people I worked for, I have experienced making art out of food and drinks. From 2012 to 2013, I lived in Paris so I could learn patisserie trade secrets from the ultimate professionals. Having successfully completed the Patisserie Diploma from Le Cordon Bleu Paris, I broadened my mindset and uncovered a deep desire to continue on my baking journey. In 2017 I attended a buttercream cake decoration advanced program in South Korea. Once I returned to Sydney, I focused on my cake decorating business, Blooming Cakes. I believe it's the perfect way to combine all my experience and knowledge so I can share and connect with you!
