What you'll do
This class can be requested as a private class for 1 or up to 4 people.Looking for fun things to do in Sydney for teenagers? Come and learn how to use the pottery wheel in this creative and relaxing holiday class!This pottery class in Sydney is designed for teenagers and conducted in a small group (max four students), allowing the teacher to attend to the learning needs of everyone. The class is suitable for beginners and also for students with existing experience on the pottery wheel. Working on the pottery wheel requires steady hands and a focused mind. The wheelfulness approach to pottery integrates the psychology of mindfulness and introduces students to the essential skills and mindset that will help them control and form the clay on the spinning wheel. Teens will be guided to create a shapes of their choice on the pottery wheel and they can customize their design by applying ceramic colours. One pot per participant will be glazed and kiln-fired. Kiln-fired pieces can be collected approximately two weeks after the class.

What to bring
All materials and tools will be provided including aprons. Please wear closed shoes and clothing that you don't mind getting clay on.

Her 'Wheelfuness' approach incorporates somatic mindfulness to enhance presence and stillness at the spinning wheel.Bettina's pottery journey began as a hobby in 2015. As an academic with a busy mind, she found the tactile nature of working with clay very relaxing. In 2019, she opened her own studio and has since enjoyed helping others discover the zen of pottery.To further explore the therapeutic benefits of working with clay, Bettina recently undertook training in Clay Field Therapy® and now also offers somatic clay therapy sessions.
