Sewing Course: Chaotic Sewing Club

An all levels sewing course in Sydney but make it social!

7 hours Class size 1 to 10 guests

$220 (Afterpay available)
It's a sew-along! In one day you'll make a garment from scratch and do it in a community. Or come along and bring your own project you'd like to work on, and get a bit of help!
This is not your grandmother's sewing class - the chaos is real, and you'll be encouraged to go your own way, express yourself, take risks and play. It's about the joy of creation and embracing "mistakes" rather than perfection.
New to sewing? That's totally fine. We are only sewing with beginner approved patterns. Pretty seasoned? It's a perfect environment for sewing in community and getting those extra tips and motivation.
The instructions and pattern are sent out at least a week before class begins so you can start sewing in the first session.
Class sizes are limited to ensure sufficient space and assistance is available.
Bring your own sewing machine or hire one of ours additional to your booking.
It's an open, participatory environment, so come ready to make new friends along the way.
All events are hosted by Chaotic Socialite Chrissy Flanagan and her deputy, poodle Bobbin.
About Chaotic Social
We’re really very friendly. Come stag, come with a mate, come with a whole crop of cousins, either way it’s a warm and inviting atmosphere and we mix and marinate.
Fair warning: I can’t swear there won’t be games, and there will definitely be nametags.
Add-on available for this class
  • Rent a sewing machine ($15)
You can add these when you book (optional).

The break of up a decade term relationship and subsequent bouts of loneliness have led me - Sydney’s former Sausage Queen, Chrissy Flanagan - to solve others’ desire to make adult friends, as well as my own.
It’s often said Sydney is a particularly tricky place to make friends as an adult. If you miss out on doing any of the big four locally or at all - high school, uni, work, kids - it’s hard to bridge the gap, leaving many of us lonelier than we would like.
And yet, as adults we’re embarrassed or too self conscious to use modern tools such as friend networking apps to solve this problem.
Chaotic Social, is seeking to bridge that gap, in the form of classes and events, where you’re encouraged to roll solo and go home with a few new mates in your phone.
