What you'll do
If you're looking for things to do in Sydney or a relaxing new hobby, this pottery class will allow you to unwind and explore a creative community in your area! In this beginner-friendly pottery class, you will make a small planter pot on the pottery wheel and sculpt a charming or quirky ornament. You will start the class by making a small pot on the pottery wheel following easy step-by-step instructions. Bettina's 'wheelfulness' approach will guide you to embody stillness and presence at the spinning wheel. After experiencing mindfulness at the wheel you will enter the creative world of freely shaping the clay. Bettina will demonstrate how to sculpt simple ornaments and you may also use your imagination to create your very own design. You can choose from a range of ceramic colours to decorate your artwork. You will leave your planter pot and ornament to be kiln-fired and the completed pieces will be ready for collection two weeks after the class. Your planter pot will be kiln-fired matt and your sculptural ornament will be kiln-fired with a shiny ceramic glaze.Not only will you finish with a stunning handmade creation to keep for yourself or gift to a loved one, but you'll also take home new creative skills!
