Did you know Australians are some of the biggest food wasters in the world? The average Australian throws away one in every five shopping bags! It's a scary statistic and something that we can all play our part in reducing.
Join us for a pickling workshop using food waste, hosted at Banish's sustainability hub at Central Station. Learn how to turn leftover vegetables into delicious pickled snacks and condiments.
Led by sustainability expert and NSW Young Australian of the Year, Lottie Dalziel this workshop will cover food waste, the basics of pickling and tips for creating your own unique pickling recipes. We'll also discuss the environmental benefits of using food waste in pickling and other recipes.
By learning to pickle with food waste, you can reduce your environmental impact while creating tasty and nutritious snacks and condiments. Perfect for beginners, this workshop is a great way to learn new skills and get creative in the kitchen.
By the end, you'll walk away with your very own pickles or sauerkraut, as well as some new food waste skills!

It wasn't until Lottie Dalziel tried to drastically reduce her waste as part of her New Year's resolution in 2018 that she realised how hard it was not only to find environmentally-friendly products but also find credible information around waste.
Banish was born in a bid to help Australian's reduce their waste with the right products and even better information.
Lottie's aim at Banish is to give Australians all of the tools they need to reduce their waste and ecological footprint. Banish is a revolutionary marketplace that not only provides the best eco-friendly products in the industry, it offers consumers all of the support they need to reach their zero-waste goals.
It's time to act now Australia - there's no time to waste.
