What You’ll Learn:
In this hands-on workshop, Amy will guide you through the delicate art of thread painting embroidery using long and short stitch techniques to create stunning pansies. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine your embroidery skills, this class will help you achieve beautifully detailed and lifelike floral designs. You’ll also learn how to apply these techniques to embellish clothing and household textiles.

Amy Jones is a textile artist whose work, inspired by botanical themes, blends abstract and figurative elements to explore memory and change. Using a mix of new and recycled materials, her dreamlike creations evoke themes of love, loss, and renewal, with stitching as a meditative process. Amy also teaches textile workshops across Sydney and her work has been featured on the cover of Annabel Crabb and Leigh Sales' book Well Hello.

She teaches weekly workshops from her home studio in Perth W.A. and loves sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm for making.

Made by Me Workshop is about helping people to connect with their "inner creative" and have some fun while making beautiful things from quality materials in our friendly & vibrant studio space in the heart of the inner west!
Established in 2017 after Rebecca Doyle decided to take a career break and chose to revisit her childhood love for arts & crafts. Rebecca grew up in a large family where money was tight, after school activities where mostly homegrown and usually involved a sheet of cardboard, a glue stick and some glitter! It is probably no surprise to learn that Rebecca followed a creative path to study Fashion & Textile Design at University!
After a few more decades (than Rebecca will publicly admit to) and a long and varied career in the fashion industry, Rebecca wanted to get back to creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind objects - Made By Me Workshop is the result of where this path led.
Rebecca loves that moment of pride that comes over each participant's face when they look at what they have created and say to themselves "Wow - I made this & I love it!"
