Mindful Pottery Wheel Course for Beginners

Find your inner zen through pottery wheelfulness in Sydney!

5 x 1.5 hours Class size 1 to 4 guests

$350 (Afterpay available)
Under the guidance of Bettina, an experienced teacher with a background in psychology and art therapy, you'll not only learn the basics of wheel throwing but also embark on a journey of somatic mindfulness. This course is designed to promote deeper relaxation, heightened focus, and creative flow that extend beyond the pottery wheel.
Limited to a maximum of four students, this intimate five week course ensures that you receive individual attention and personalised guidance, which makes it ideal for beginners.
The course fee includes glazing and kiln-firing for five pieces per person. Once your creations have been fired in the kiln, they will be transformed into beautiful, functional pottery pieces that you can proudly display or use in your daily life.
Please note: Classes missed by students are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled. In the event of a class cancellation by the teacher, we will either arrange a make-up class or issue a full refund for that specific session.

Bettina offers a unique therapeutic approach to pottery, drawing on her psychology background (PhD) and sensorimotor art therapy training. Her 'Wheelfuness' approach incorporates somatic mindfulness to enhance presence and stillness at the spinning wheel.
Bettina's pottery journey began as a hobby in 2015. As an academic with a busy mind, she found the tactile nature of working with clay very relaxing. In 2019, she opened her own studio and has since enjoyed helping others discover the zen of pottery.
To further explore the therapeutic benefits of working with clay, Bettina recently undertook training in Clay Field Therapy® and now also offers somatic clay therapy sessions.
