Intimate Class to Kick-start Larger Indoor / Outdoor Mosaics

Merryl’s Mosaics have been running mosaic workshops for 17 years. We have casual customers, one-off customers and on-going customers. Making a larger piece - like a birdbath or a planter or a large wall piece takes time. We know it is difficult to commit to long term workshops, so we are offering you an option to attend an intimate 3-hour workshop to kick-start your project, and then continue on a casual basis thereafter. We are open weekdays Monday to Friday, Tuesday nights and on Sunday mornings. Other weekend times on an appointment basis.In this informative hands-on class you will learn the steps in making a mosaic, and will kick-start your mosaic. You'll get creative working with a range of materials, adhesives, substrates, tiles, and grouts that are used for indoor/outdoor mosaics, as well as learning how to cut glass using mosaic cutters, free hand scorers and a glass cutting system. You will get one-on-one assistance to get your questions answered and begin with the right skills. During the class you'll receive step-by-step how to instructions for how to make your mosaic and pick up knowledge and tips for making indoor/outdoor projects. You will begin making your piece and at the end of the day workshop will have several options: You can either continue attending classes on days that it suits you at a rate of $30 per hour, or purchase materials from us and continue at home. You can work on your piece flexibility - doing some parts at home if that suits you, and some in our studio. This class includes all glass and materials that you use during the workshop as well as use of all tools and equipment needed on the day. It does not include the base (potplant/table/birdbath etc. that you are working on as you have the option of bringing your own. (if you bring your own please bring an unglazed piece). If you want us to supply please call us after you have booked in. If you choose to use some of our specialty glass there will be an additional charge for that glass, which you can purchase on the day. You can also purchase glass and tools to take home if you want to work on your piece at home after the workshop. Tea/coffee and biscuits will be served.We have extensive experience and can help you with any mosaic questions that you have. This is a great workshop for beginners or people who have had some experience working with mosaics and want to step up - you will have a structured, intimate workshop and will build your skills as you continue working on your piece. And you can work on it at times that suit you after your initial sessionMaking a mosaic is a calming and mindful experience. This, together with being creative and relaxing, makes it a unique experience where you can enjoy the simple pleasure of making your mosaic.Come along and experience the magic of mosaic! And you will gain skills to continue making quality mosaics into the future.This class is limited to 1 - 2 adults only so that we can give you all the attention you will need.If you attend one of our morning classes, you are welcome to book in for the afternoon Casual Mosaic Class so that you can make a day of it.
