We're thrilled to welcome back Pauline Franklyn, visiting us all the way from Western Australia! After hosting several successful workshops with us over the past year, Pauline is returning to share her colourful and fun approach to stitching and creative mending at Made By Me Workshop in St Peters.
Inspired by her mother, who found joy in extending the life of garments, Pauline embraces the principles of circular fashion by bringing creativity and colour to the meditative task of mending. Using hand-dyed wool yarns, Liberty fabrics, and Indian cottons, she teaches you how to repair, reuse, and revitalize your cherished clothing.
In this workshop, participants are encouraged to bring along a pair of jeans, a favourite jumper with a moth hole, or any garment in need of rejuvenation. You'll learn Pauline's favourite weaving technique, Kantha running stitch, detached chain, Turkey work, and appliqué for patching.
The hand-dyed yarns Pauline uses are a joy to stitch with—both forgiving and inspiring. As you work, every stitch becomes a delightful surprise, as colours emerge and your mending takes shape, creating a piece that feels almost magical. This workshop is about embracing the pleasure and freedom of stitching while contributing to a more sustainable and mindful wardrobe.

Made by Me Workshop is about helping people to connect with their "inner creative" and have some fun while making beautiful things from quality materials in our friendly & vibrant studio space in the heart of the inner west!
Established in 2017 after Rebecca Doyle decided to take a career break and chose to revisit her childhood love for arts & crafts. Rebecca grew up in a large family where money was tight, after school activities where mostly homegrown and usually involved a sheet of cardboard, a glue stick and some glitter! It is probably no surprise to learn that Rebecca followed a creative path to study Fashion & Textile Design at University!
After a few more decades (than Rebecca will publicly admit to) and a long and varied career in the fashion industry, Rebecca wanted to get back to creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind objects - Made By Me Workshop is the result of where this path led.
Rebecca loves that moment of pride that comes over each participant's face when they look at what they have created and say to themselves "Wow - I made this & I love it!"
Made by Me Workshop run a variety of creative workshops, hen’s parties, private parties and corporate events from their warehouse space in St Peters including Resin Art, Resin Jewellery & Mould Making, Soap Making, Terrazzo Homewares, Punch Needle, Macrame and many more.
