In my family, we started a tradition that has brought so much joy to our Christmas gatherings—we hide a $100 note in one of our crackers and some scratchies in a couple of others. It all began when I thought, 'How amazing would it be to open a cracker and find a really good prize?' Since diamond rings were out of my budget, we decided to pool together and create a cash prize! Each adult chips in $10 to make up the $100, and since then, we’ve expanded the idea to include thoughtful trinkets like mini bottles of alcohol, hand creams, or even handmade resin charms from our own resin jewellery workshop. It’s become one of our most cherished traditions, and every year, we look forward to the creativity and fun that goes into filling each cracker.
This Christmas cracker workshop is all about sharing that idea and helping you make your own family tradition! Whether you’re inspired to add a big prize or a collection of small treasures, you’ll be guided through the process of making a set of 6 beautiful bonbons that you can personalise with the contents of your choice. From small bottles of spirits to luxurious hand creams, scented candles, or mouth-watering candies, your crackers can be as unique as the people in your family. And don't worry—we’ll provide the essential "dad" jokes and the snaps that give the crackers that satisfying pop!
Last year, we had couples and families come together to make all their crackers, and seeing the pride and joy as they shared these handmade creations with loved ones on Christmas Day was truly special.
This workshop is a wonderful Christmas activity for the whole family or a fun evening with friends. Bring your favourite food and drinks, or order in from UberEats, and your meals will be delivered directly to your table. We provide tableware and glassware for your convenience—so you can focus on the fun and creativity without worrying about clean-up.
Spaces are limited to keep the experience intimate, so be sure to secure your place early.

Made by Me Workshop is about helping people to connect with their "inner creative" and have some fun while making beautiful things from quality materials in our friendly & vibrant studio space in the heart of the inner west!
Established in 2017 after Rebecca Doyle decided to take a career break and chose to revisit her childhood love for arts & crafts. Rebecca grew up in a large family where money was tight, after school activities where mostly homegrown and usually involved a sheet of cardboard, a glue stick and some glitter! It is probably no surprise to learn that Rebecca followed a creative path to study Fashion & Textile Design at University!
After a few more decades (than Rebecca will publicly admit to) and a long and varied career in the fashion industry, Rebecca wanted to get back to creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind objects - Made By Me Workshop is the result of where this path led.
Rebecca loves that moment of pride that comes over each participant's face when they look at what they have created and say to themselves "Wow - I made this & I love it!"
