Have you ever wanted to learn how to spin your own woollen yarn? Experience some self-care and creative time while you learn how to spin your own yarn using a drop spindle.
In this fun workshop, you will be shown the basics of spinning using a drop spindle, as well as learn all about a variety of natural fibres suitable for spinning. By the end, you'll take home your hand-spun yarn to admire and enjoy.
Suitable for ages 12 and above, all materials will be provided, including the use of a drop spindle and 50 grams of natural fibre for spinning. The workshop will be held with a small group of eight students.
A delicious homemade morning tea will be provided, with a gluten-free option included.
You will also have the opportunity to purchase a drop spindle kit for $40 to continue spinning at home. Additionally, you will have the chance to tour our farm and feed the friendly alpacas, sheep, rabbits, ducks, and chickens!

Rebecca Muscat is a Textile & Fibre Artist living on a 4 acre Fibre farm in the Hunter region of New South Wales. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Art from The University of Newcastle.
Rebecca works primarily in various forms of weaving, botanical dyeing, macrame, crochet and embroidery.
With a particular interest in slow fashion and the maker movement, Rebecca’s aim is to promote each person’s creative process as a form of mindfulness & self care.
Sharing her passion for time honoured fibre crafts with others brings great joy.
Rebecca is a very hands on educator with a warm & practical style of teaching. Each student is encouraged to express their individual creativity using the techniques and skills they learn in her workshops.
