Join me for a three-hour intensive tool workshop in Frenchs Forest where you'll learn different woodworking tools and how to use them! Learn how to safely use tools like the drop saw, the drill and driver, the handheld router, the orbital sander, the Kreg Jig, and the jigsaw, as well as other workshop favourites! Learn how to use them safely and confidently in a friendly and supportive environment. This course will give you the confidence to tackle small projects at home or take on one of my weekend woodworking courses!
With no previous woodworking experience necessary! Learn a new skill in a welcoming, non-intimidating environment. In my small classes, you’ll feel 100% supported and able to ask lots of questions, all in a relaxed, encouraging atmosphere.
During our time together, I’ll walk you through the below tools and processes:
  • Learn how to cut straight and mitre cuts on a drop saw and the difference between sheet material and solid hardwood.
  • Learn all about the handheld router, including how to swap out different cutters, and the benefits of using different router bits on your home projects.
  • Learn how to drill a clearance hole, a pilot hole and use a countersink bit as well as why you need to know the difference!
  • Learn how to drill out a neat hole using a forstner bit.
  • Learn how to use an orbital sander, as well as the difference in sandpaper grades and how and when to use which one.
  • Learn how to safely use a jigsaw and get practice cutting through sheet material.
Feel free to ask as many questions as you like and chat with me about some of the projects you’ve had in mind.
After our session together, you’ll leave my workshop not only brimming with new knowledge but empowered to continue your making journey.

After a 20-year career making TV commercials, I realised I had lost the love of what I was making.
And for a maker the love is everything!
It was time to find a new way to contribute to the world. I enrolled in a three year TAFE course, determined to become a qualified tradie. Fast forward ten years and now I run my own business making custom-made furniture and running BEGINNER woodworking classes. Join me for a short course in a small class, a one-on-one lesson, or a full weekend of making and discover the joy and connectedness that comes from the craft of woodworking!
