What you'll do
Embark on this luxurious star gazing and wine tasting tour at the Dryridge Estate, a magnificent vineyard nestled in the serene Megalong Valley!Here, you'll get to indulge yourself and taste seven different types of wines under the stars led by an astronomer and exploration of the Southern Sky. Learn all about and see planets, galaxies, stars, constellations and galaxies through the telescope, with scrumptious nibbles by the firepit, did we mention the cheese?This experience is perfect for those looking for a unique activity in the Blue Mountains. You'll leave with a newfound appreciation for the night sky and the delicious wines of Dryridge Estate.Note: We require a minimum of 10 participants in order to run the tour, to hire our astronomer, the sommelier and privatise the winery. You will be able to reschedule or we will offer a refund (2.5% non-refundable merchant fees) if we don’t reach 10 participants, 7 days before the start of the tour. Cancellation policy:
- Please contact us at least 24 hours before the event to cancel or postpone your booking. Our tours are non-refundable.
- In the event of cancellation due to bad weather, we will notify you by email at 2pm on the day of the tour and we will issue credits valid for 3 years so you can re-book another Wine Tasting Stargazing tour held once a month.
- Kindly be aware that in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, our tours are not eligible for refunds in the event of cancellation due to overcast skies. We strongly encourage you to book last minute to check the latest weather forecast or contact us prior to booking so we can check the weather together, if you do not want to receive a credit.

The drive takes approximately 20 mins from Blackheath through the beautiful rainforest in the Glen and down to the valley floor. Follow the signs along the road and turn right off the Megalong Valley Road at the Six Foot Track onto Aspinall Road.

At age 8, Dr Dimitri Douchin declared “I want to be an astrophysicist”. He studied Physics and Fundamental Physics in Paris then left his French hometown to start his PhD in Astronomy & Astrophysics which he received in 2014 in Sydney, Australia.He boasts 10 years of guide experience at prestigious astro-tourism organisations, University of Canterbury Mount John Observatory in Lake Tekapo, New Zealand; Macquarie University; Sydney Observatory; at the ultra-luxury Emirates One & Only Wolgan Valley, Blue Mountains.Dimitri is currently Adjunct Fellow at Western Sydney University researching how various people around the world study the sky—a new and trendy science known at Cultural Astronomy. He is investigating the potential significance of the Sky for the local Indigenous communities in the Blue Mountains area in collaboration with the communities, as well as exploring the potential of satellite imagery for local archaeoastronomy. With his fiancée Caroline, he is running stargazing tours under the UNESCO World Heritage Blue Mountains’s dark skies, 1h30 from Sydney in Australia, with dramatic escarpment and valley views as a backdrop. The couple also runs bespoke events such as Wine Tasting Stargazing and Dinners Under The Stars.
