Join Emily in her home studio in Lilydale for this one-on-one four week introduction to wheel throwing.
Ideal for beginner potters with little to no experience, this course will give you the basics you need to launch your pottery journey.
Emily will guide you through the process of making something from start to finish on the wheel and help you build essential skills and techniques along the way.
Each two-hour session is one-on-one, giving you full access to Emily’s knowledge and skillset.
At the end of the course, you will have learned the basic skills to be able to throw a pot on the wheel. You will also have made up to five small pots on the wheel, glazed them and had them fired to take home.

Emily started her journey in a local studio at the end of 2016 as a creative outlet one day a week. She quickly left her 9 to 5 behind to volunteer her time at the studio where she developed and refined her skills and knowledge. She has since gone on to exhibit at various galleries in Australia, stocked pieces in the NGV Design Store and Craft Victoria and completed two artist residencies in Japan.
Emily has taught pottery classes at various studios around Melbourne between 2020 and 2023. She is currently offering one on one pottery lessons from her home studio while focusing on her personal practice and remains engaged with the ceramics community through group exhibitions and other events.
