In this three hour beginner’s workshop you’ll unleash your inner designer, and learn super easy techniques to create a fabulous woven masterpiece- the techniques you will learn can be taken away and applied, again and again, using your take-home loom (yes, that’s right, you get to take it home!) Everything is supplied for you to complete your project, including a handy, dandy instructional booklet.Â
Sky teaches using her own designed weaving tools and provides an array of carefully chosen and curated materials beyond just yarn (perfect for pure creative expression!) Forget Netflix- this is your new favourite thing to do on the couch.

Sky Carter
Sky Carter is a Sydney based free form weaver and colour designer. Part of the New Craft Movement (a global ‘happening’ where art meets design meets craft) she chooses weaving and tapestry as her vehicle for creative expression, motivated by the textural and sculptural effects that can be achieved.
All her pieces are unique one-offs influenced by global or local trends that Sky observes around her. Her works are also a response to deep internal forces and obsessions (pink and gold!). Sky is also a collector and curator of ‘things’ she loves, organized and harmoniously styled clutter, and has a strong interior design philosophy of layering, layering, layering! Her woven wall art is a natural extension of this.

Work-Shop is a creative concept that will broaden your horizons and help you unleash your inner awesome. We provide affordable short courses in life skills and alternative art. We’ve teamed up with Australia’s brightest creative minds to share their knowledge and help teach you a new skill. From 3D printing and stencil art through to music and gardening – life skills and personal development through to cooking doughnuts and mushroom foraging, we offer a broad range of fun and creative short courses to suit our time poor lives. We will inspire you to pick up that pen, paintbrush, hammer or sewing machine and flick the switch that will kickstart a whole new way of life.Community values lie at the heart of our project. We collaborate with local artists and industry experts to teach classes and utilise local suppliers for any materials needed. We also provide a creative environment for emerging artists to produce and sell work, and meet like minded individuals.
