The moment you’ve all been waiting for… the ClassBento crew’s annual workshop wishlist!
That’s right. The festive holiday season is right around the corner, which means it’s the perfect time to experience the workshops you’ve been eyeing off all year with your craft-loving friends and family.
So, to give you a little inspiration without further ado, here are the workshops we can’t wait to do with our favourite people this holiday season.
1. For the sweet tooths
Meet: Pressy, General Manager (USA)
Can’t wait to try… Chocolate making! I’ve always loved eating chocolate – both milk and dark chocolate.
It’s always better when I’m with… My cousin spent his childhood with strict dietary guidelines and wasn't able to eat much chocolate. As he got older, he started to love it – especially the good stuff! He’s now at the point in his life where he began appreciating all food crafts. Guided chocolate making seems like the perfect intersection of two poignant moments in his life!
2. For the date night adventurists
Meet: Dea, eCommerce Manager (AU)
Can’t wait to try… Glass blowing because I want to create something unique that I can gift to my partner.
It’s always better when I’m with… My partner, as we enjoy trying new crafts together. We always have a good laugh during the process and enjoy the conversations we have about our experience afterwards.
3. For the busy mums
Meet: Holly, Growth Partner (AU)
Can’t wait to try… A sewing for beginners class because I’ve always wanted to give it another go since high school.
It’s always better when I’m with… My close friends, who I don’t get to see often as we are all working full time and raising a family. But if we do something together like taking a walk or a creative workshop, we allow ourselves to have our "me time" again and have some fun.
4. For the ones who need some downtime
Meet: Dom, Content Writer (UK)
Can’t wait to try… Pottery because shaping my own vase or mug from a lump of clay seems so relaxing.
It’s always better when I’m with… My amazing Mum, Diane. She always seems to spend her Christmas rushing around to make sure everyone else is happy, so I'd love to share a pottery making experience with her. She could definitely use some festive chill time in 2024!
5. For the coffee lovers
Meet: Alex, Senior Software Engineer (AU)
Can’t wait to try… A barista and latte art class—I would love to take my coffee game to the next level!
It’s always better when I’m with… My wife is very fond of coffee, so I cannot think of anyone better to join me in that class. Before I discovered coffee, I was a big hot chocolate drinker, but she showed me this whole new world.
6. For the far-away friends
Meet: Jane, Head of Editorial (USA)
Can’t wait to try… A DIY terrarium or moss wall art class but if we’re being honest, food and cocktails are usually at the top of our list!
It’s always better when I’m with… My group of four friends who are spread out across the West Coast. This past spring, we finally met up in San Francisco and took a food tour. It was a blast! We got to meet local food purveyors and taste-test what they make.
7. For the growing green thumbs
Meet: Kellie, Content Writer (AU)
Can’t wait to try… A gardening or plant course because I want to grow my green thumb!
It’s always better when I’m with… My Dad! Growing up, I have very fond memories of him tending to the gardens and plants in our backyard. Despite the fact that I’m a natural plant repellent, my Dad has been able to show me how to care for them over the years. I can’t wait to try out a class with him and learn something new together!
8. For the passionate DIY-ers
Meet: Natasha, Community Partnerships Manager (AU)
Can’t wait to try… Leather craft workshops as I have a kangaroo medicine drum that I would love to make a carry bag for.
It’s always better when I’m with… My partner Adam because he has been talking about leather binding some of his favourite books. It would be a great new craft to learn as a couple together as we could work on projects around the home, or create personalised funky collars for our dogs.
9. For the mother-daughter duos
Meet: Tiffany, Content Writer (AU)
Can’t wait to try… Flower arranging! It looks so fun and relaxing.
It’s always better when I’m with… My Mum! I’ve wanted to treat my mum and her friend to a flower arranging workshop for an early Christmas present. She’s always taking care of everyone so it would be nice for us to slow down and spend some quality time during the holiday season.
