If you love travel and photography, our Uluru to Alice photography tour is a chance to experience some of the world's most spectacular landscapes while learning to photograph them.
Led by Alfonso Calero, an accredited non-indigenous guide for Uluru and Kata Tjuta and Paul Gosney, they will take you on a consecutive six-day photography course in Uluru. Learn all about photography and capture amazing photos of this iconic Australian landmark both day and night!
You will learn:
  • Master composition.
  • Landscape photography.
  • Portrait photography.
  • Wildlife photography.
  • Astrophotography.
  • Close up/abstract photography.
  • Advanced editing techniques (focus stacking, bracketing, composite, luminosity masking, H.D.R. and panorama stitching).
Detailed itinerary:
Day One:
  • PM -- Airport transfers and check into the hotel.
  • PM -- Uluru afternoon/sunset/dusk shoot and astrophotography after dinner, or editing if cloudy.
Day Two:
  • AM -- Uluru dawn/sunrise and early morning field of lights shoot.
  • AM -- After breakfast morning at leisure to choose optional tours at your own expense (i.e. helicopter ride).
  • PM -- Kata Tjuta afternoon/sunset/dusk shoot and astrophotography after dinner, or editing if cloudy.
Day Three:
  • AM -- Uluru dawn/sunrise and early morning.
  • AM -- After takeaway packed breakfast at Uluru, a leisurely drive to Kings Canyon (3-4 hours).
  • PM -- Mid afternoon check in followed by a sunset/dusk shoot and milky way astrophotography action after dinner nearby. Fingers crossed the weather Gods will be on our side.
Day Four:
  • AM -- Kings Canyon Sunrise and early morning shoot. Watarrka National Park Canyon Rim walk.
  • PM -- If the weather clears up at night after dinner we can have another shot at Milky Way photography again. The dark skies out there make it ideal for night shooting.
Bring your swimmers for a possible dip in the hotel pool. Full day exploring other key cities along the Rim walk. Optional helicopter ride also available (not included). Pre-booking essential.
Day Five:
After a sunrise shoot, we will drive back to Uluru for our final night. This time we will shoot a sunset at Kata Tjuta and astrophotography for a night under the stars.
Day Six:
Uluru sunrise. Hotel breakfast and late morning drive to Yulara airport for our journey home.
Not included:
  • Domestic flights Uluru (Ayers Rock).
  • Meals, drinks or miscellaneous expenses.
  • Field of lights tour (Uluru) -- $77.
  • Cultural tours or helicopter rides (Uluru and Kings Canyon).
  • Travel insurance (accident, health, and equipment lost or damaged).

Knowledge required
  • Intermediate to advanced photography experience.
  • Moderate level of fitness is required with around 10, 000 to 20, 000 steps a day (2-3 hours) on uneven surfaces.
What you'll get

  • Up to 20kg luggage and appropriate clothing.
  • Hiking boots, sun protection, wide brimmed hat, water bottle, hair net (flys), gaiters and mozzie spray.
