Join leading contemporary jeweller, Vicki Mason, in this fun, beginner-friendly workshop and learn how to make jewellery using biodegradable materials.
In this relaxing class, you will learn how to make a colourful textile brooch using simple knotting techniques. Working with beautifully coloured hemp cord, you will knot and stitch to create a unique brooch that you can wear straight away!
Utilising waste materials, she reinterprets historical forms of jewellery and combines slow craft processes with industrial techniques in order to challenge traditional orthodoxies surrounding craft making.
This mediative process of knotting the hemp cord makes you slow down and live in the present moment.
The workshop will take part over two sessions, with a 30-minute break in between so you can get a bite to eat or keep practicing your knotting skills.
At the end, you can take home your radiating brooch to wear or pin it on your bag - it's up to you!
