Fan of sushi? Learn how to make your own with renowned chef Yoshiko Takeuchi, who has 20 years experience teaching, is the author of two Japanese health-food cookbooks and has worked in some of Sydney’s top kitchens.
Using top quality Japanese ingredients, you will follow traditional methods replicable at home, including essential Japanese seasonings, cooking techniques and a variety of yummy recipes.
Some techniques you'll learn:
  • Thin roll
  • Thick roll
  • Inside out roll
  • Nigiri
You'll also learn to make tasty fillings like tempura, and treat yourself to a sushi lunch with miso soup and matcha green tea. Life doesn't get much better than this!
Also, all of Yoshiko's classes (except the "Japanese Cooking Class (Advanced)") are suitable for vegans.

What to bring
Please bring an apron and wear closed shoes. For those without one, aprons are available to rent for $8. Everything else will be provided.
 
Suitable for

This class is great for individuals and couples as well as for a date idea, team building activity or hens party.

Suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 10 years old).

An adult must accompany any attending kids, and must pay for a separate ticket.

This experience would also be a unique gift for her, gift for mum or gift for couples.

Hi Yoshiko, I'm looking for a sushi making class for my daughter (12 years) and myself as we both love Sushi and we want to learn how to make it. Do you think your Superfood Sushi Workshop would be suitable for us?

Yes, it is no problem at all to attend the class with your daughter. You will be surprised younger kids can sometime make sushi much better than adult! 

I even had younger students before so it is totally suitable.

Your teacher
I’m anaphylactic to prawns, crabs and lobsters. Would this stop me from being able to do the class?

You will be totally safe in my sushi class since my class is totally plant-based. 

You will learn all the techniques to roll nori roll ( thin, thick and inside out roll) as well as nigiri but we will use Japanese superfoods instead of fish. so you can put whatever you like when you make sushi at home.
