Felting

Welcome to the wonderful world of felting & fibre sculpture. This traditional technique has been used for centuries and can be applied to a wide range of products, such as clothing, accessories, home decor, and sculpture.

In this hands-on workshop, you'll immerse yourself in a fun and interactive way to learn the basics of needle felting to create your own unique mini sculpture. Felting is a process of matting, condensing, and pressing fibres together, to create a dense and durable material. It's also extremely meditative and a satisfyingly stabby process.

We'll start with an introduction to the materials and techniques used in needle felting, including the types of wool and tools needed. We'll then jump straight into stabbing & crafting our pieces, learning how to shape and mold the wool fibres into soft mini sculptures.

Next, we'll cover different techniques for adding details and texture to your pieces. We'll also cover the use of other materials to add more dimension & shape.

Throughout the workshop, you'll have the opportunity to ask questions and receive guidance from our wonderful facilitator Lianna with plenty of time to work on your creations and share ideas with classmates.

At the end of the workshop, you'll leave with your completed mini soft sculpture to take home and proudly display. This workshop would be a great way for participants to learn a new skill while also creating a fun and unique craft project.

Please note: This class requires at least 5 students to run. In the unlikely event that we don't get this number of students, we'll cancel the class and fully refund you and inform you via email, so please watch your email a few days prior to the class.
