If you weren't born with a silver spoon in your mouth, why not make one of your own! Join us for Silver Spoon making workshops with industrial designer Suzy Weir MDes. In this beginner-friendly workshop, you'll have the opportunity to design and create your own unique silver spoon, complete with your family crest if you desire.
Wow yourself, adorn your table, or just have fun with ancient methods of making stuff.
Under Suzy's guidance, you'll start by immersing yourself in the process of design. Whether you bring sketches, pictures, or just your enthusiasm, you'll learn how to carve your design into wax, stamp it, form it, or even melt it into the desired shape to be cast in sterling silver. Throughout the course, you'll be introduced to various methods and tools, and you'll have the chance to see examples of work by beginners and experienced artisans.
Please note that the cost of metals and centrifugal casting is not included in the course fee and will be determined after your design has been formed into wax. Feel free to reach out to Suzy for more information on estimated costs.
This workshop offers a cosy and relaxing environment in Potts Point, where you can let your creativity flow and bring your vision to life. By the end of the workshop, you'll leave with a beautifully handcrafted silver spoon that reflects your own personal style and flair. Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn a new skill and create a unique piece.

I'm an industrial designer with a Master of Design from New York's Pratt Institute, the Royal Institute of Copenhagen and UTS.
Among other achievements, I was a featured jewellery artist at MONA in Tasmania, Head of Design at the Australian National Maritime Museum and Head of Design Curriculum at the Whitehouse Institute of Design.
I make treasures you can wear or use, and I teach design skills out of my workshop, Industrial Bling, in charming the suburb of Potts Point, Sydney, Australia.
I believe there is a creative CORE inside all of us – and, having taught at a university, I'm great at helping you find yours. When you become a student at Industrial Bling, I'll share my unique and easy methods of making with you.
In my workshops, you can learn how to make:
  • silver rings, pendants or spoons
  • gold rings or pendants
What my students are saying:
"I really enjoyed this class! Suzy was lovely, very welcoming and knowledgeable. The class was lots of fun and the ring and pendant I made are lovely, I’m so happy with them." – Martha Gledhill-Tuite, Gold or Silver Ring Making Course
