In this intimate workshop, Sarah will guide you through learning the traditional techniques to make your own silver jewellery. This workshop is aimed to be a fun creative experience and you require no prior jewellery making or metalworking experience to produce a beautiful piece of jewellery you will treasure for years to come.
Over two and a half hours you will create your own Sterling Silver Ring, Set of Earrings, or Pendant in a design of your own style. You will be guided through the process at your own pace, from designing your custom piece, marking out your design, cutting, forging, soldering, sanding, texturing and then finally finishing your new treasure.
Sarah Munnings knows that once you start working with semi-precious metals you'll be hooked! So in order to ensure you are able to create further projects at home on the completion of your class, there is a strong focus on using tools that are readily available and you are able to set up at home.

Sarah Munnings was working in the corporate world of finance and when she was struck down by a devastating mystery illness. Tests, more tests, and months of trips to doctors led to the diagnoses of Fibromyalgia (a chronic pain condition). This led to Sarah to rediscover her creativity as her own personal form of rehabilitation and become a self-taught jeweller who developed a table top jewellery practice in her kitchen.

She now teaches others the amazing creations that can be made using copper, silver and brass. She uses traditional techniques of forging, soldering and texturing metal, and is passionate about using tools that are easily accessible so that her guests at workshops can continue their journey of discovery at home.

The Old Auction House is an independently run multi-use arts precinct located in the regional Victorian town of Kyneton, just an hour north of Melbourne. Housed in a historic weatherboard building, which served as the much loved Ferris auction rooms for over 80 years, the precinct opened in April 2017 and is home to a variety of artistic spaces.
The Old Auction House is currently home to a retail shop specialising in quality Australian handmade items, four working artist studios including local glass artists Leadlight By Ettore, a teaching space for visiting artists, and two gallery spaces with rotating exhibitions.
The Old Auction House is open 7 days and the entire space has been renovated to be accessible for those with prams, wheelchairs, and mobility issues.
The Old Auction House has a focus on community engagement in the arts. Each studio runs a variety of classes with different artists and materials throughout the year.
