If you love puzzles and problem solving, then this shibori dyeing class is for you! Twist your mind around the unlimited options of geometric pattern design and be surprised by the amazing results of dyeing with indigo.
In this hands-on class, you will learn how to make indigo dye art, all under the guidance of an experienced teacher. They will take you through the itajime shibori technique, where you will fold fabric into a grid of repeating geometric shapes.
You will learn how to:
  • Fold variations that create complex repeats
  • Use a variety of different shapes to make diverse patterns
  • Mixing dye colours
  • Overlaying two colours and moving resists to make a three colour design
At the end of this class, you can take home your indigo dyed clothes, as well as some newfound artistic skills!

What to bring
  • Please bring cotton, linen or hemp fabric or items from home to dye or upcycle. Items up to 60cm in size
  • Wear comfortable clothing, an apron and enclosed shoes
