Create a piece of clothing of your choice in this three-day sewing course! Choose to stitch yourself a dress, pants, skirt or maybe a shirt. If you’re a bit nervous to start a dress all on your own, would like some help with fitting, pattern making and finishing, or just love to sew and are looking at maybe challenging yourself while learning some new skills, then this course is perfect for you.
Over the three full days, under the guidance of an experienced teacher, you will learn about reading sewing patterns, cutting and marking fabric, small fitting alterations, ironing techniques for dress making, sewing tricks, different garments closures, hemming techniques and more.
Find a great pattern and buy some gorgeous fabric to make yourself a piece of clothing! This course is three five-hour lessons, over three consecutive weeks. Like all our sewing workshops, this is an intimate class so that each person gets enough attention and assistance, with a maximum of four students per class.
You are welcome to use our workshop sewing machines and overlockers, or you can bring your own. You must provide your own pattern, fabrics and accessories.
Please note: you need to have recent sewing experience to attend this workshop. You should have at least completed a beginner's sewing course. This workshop is not suitable for complete beginners. If you would like to learn how to sew or you need a refresher you can attend our Introduction to Sewing Course.

What you'll get
You are welcome to use our workshop sewing machine and overlockers, or bring your own. This is the perfect dressmaking workshop in a small-sized class.
 
What to bring
Your choice of dress, pants, skirt or shirt pattern that has been approved by the Teacher. All fabrics and accessories required for your dress.
 
Session repeats

This class series runs over 3 consecutive sessions, at the same time every week.

Location

Sew Make Create - Suite 4, 38 City Rd, Chippendale, NSW

Central train station is a short bus ride away or a good 20 minute walk. There is free street parking but some of it is timed.

Your teacher can also travel within 30 kms of Chippendale, to a venue of your choice for a private class
