1.5 hours Class size 1 to 4 (public classes), 3 to 6

$99 (Afterpay available)
($99 per BYO Garment, $99 per Fronster Kit)
Do you love quiet hour at the supermarket?
Are you an adult living with sensory overload?
I'm your tutor Deb, and I live with Multiple Sclerosis. I get tired easily and find bright lights, loud music, and crowds of people exhausting.
I'd love you to join me in my studio in Jannali where we will work in ambient lighting, in small class sizes, to help minimise the impact on our senses while learning a new skill.
Slow stitching is a beautiful, mindful process resulting in stunning works of art. This intentionally slow practise gives the mind a lovely place to rest, and your work can be completed over several sessions.
You can choose to bring a garment to work on, or you might like to hand sew one of our Fronsterz (kit provided).
If you are an NDIS participant, you might like to check with your Plan Manager to see whether the cost of the workshop might be covered under your plan.
Please note:
  • Carers are welcome as non-participating attendees.
  • Due to the content covered in class, a moderate level of fine motor skills is necessary.
  • The toilet is NOT disabled-friendly.
  • The studio is close to Jannali Train Station and has a Council Carpark to the rear.
Knowledge required
Beginner friendly

What you'll get
All threads, needles, scissors and embellishing fabrics are included
If the Fronster option is selected the kit is included in the cost.
What to bring
If you are selecting the "Bring your own Garment" option, bring something you would like to stitch on. Jeans, Jackets, Jumpers, or a sweatshirt would work well as the garment needs a little substance to it.
T-shirts are not suitable as the fabric may be too thin and stretchy.

Hi I'm Deb, Owner, Designer and Maker from Stalia Design.
Coming from a long family history of creativity it's no surprise I started working for a sewing machine company at age 20, then at 24 I opened my own sewing shop.
A few years later I thought I would give the corporate world a try and got stuck there for almost 20 years (all the while making clothes and costumes for my children) until a chronic illness diagnosis rescued me!
Completing my Cert IV in Design and a Diploma in Surface Design rekindled my creative spark and I now offer you the opportunity to create beautiful, mindful pieces. With a focus on sustainability and repurposing reclaimed textiles.
Workshops are run in our private space in Jannali and I also run private in-person workshops for hen's and bridal shower, birthday parties and team building.
I look forward to helping you create your very own masterpiece.
