What you'll do
Print your own designs onto fabric in our Screen Printing Workshop. Learn how easy it is to screen print at home in this beginner’s workshop. Learn the basics of screen printing in our fun workshop! You will get to do multiple prints of your own original, stencil cut design. No previous design or printing experience is required. You will learn how to create a hand-cut stencil from your own design, how to prepare your screen, how to set everything up so you could do it at home, then do lots of printing!You will get to print your design onto fabric and a tote bag. All tools and materials are provided for this workshop, just bring along some simple design ideas which are no larger than 20x20cm which will work as a stencil. You are also welcome to bring a plain t-shirt or piece of fabric to print on. We choose to use Permaset Aqua inks for this workshop because they are environmentally friendly, water based inks that are 100 percent solvent free.About Karen TamKaren Tam is a Textile Designer and studied for 2 years at Ultimo Tafe in Textile Design and Development (illustration, dyes, screenprint and digital printing). She currently has her own textiles practice and label, Karen Tam Designs, and incorporates natural dyes to create her sublime textiles. Karen also freelances on various design work for private clients. She is passionate about sharing her love of dyeing, printing and using environmentally friendly methods.
