In this engaging term-based art class, you'll learn about everything you need to develop your creativity. Whether you are a beginner or have intermediate experience, this class offers a supportive environment where you can explore your artistic goals and receive practical feedback. Led by seasoned fine artist and studio director, Jennifer Webb, this session is the 4-hour weekend day version of the Thursday morning or evening session.
Throughout the fortnightly Saturday sessions each term, you'll have access to ongoing learning materials that you can use to continue developing your skills at home, if that is your wish. Whether you're an intermediate creative or just starting out, these materials will help you progress on your artistic journey.
One of the unique aspects of this group class is the flexibility it offers. You're not limited to following a single academic pathway. Instead, you can plan your own curriculum based on your unique goals and plans. By taking advantage of the online studio supplementary materials and creating a personalised learning plan, you'll see your own fastest results.
During class sessions, you'll have the opportunity to engage with fellow group members and receive practical feedback from your professional facilitator. These sessions are designed to enhance your learning experience and provide a space for creative exploration.
Feel free to bring along any food or beverage of your choice - many do. It is a four-hour session and all about creating in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere that nurtures your creativity.
By joining this Saturday fortnightly group, you'll gain valuable skills and knowledge that will transform your artistry, all at your own level, with the inspiration of fellow group members as well. You'll be amazed at what you can create once you have some skills and techniques on board. So, embrace your inner artist and join us for an exciting and fulfilling artistic adventure.

Knowledge required
Beginners are able to develop confidence and get support from the teacher, as well as the camaraderie of the group. Most beginners reach early intermediate level by the time they enter their third term.
If you wish to enroll after a term has commenced, no drama, just drop a line and we can let you know availability and cost. After all, you are designing your own individual learning pathway.
What you'll get
Book a term (5 fortnightly creative sessions) to attend in a group setting. Sessions run from 1-5 pm. NB. Due to Easter 2024, the 5th session will be 3 weeks apart from the 4th session unlike all other sessions which are generally 2 weeks apart.

What to bring
Art group members need a drawing kit and a painting kit. A basic drawing kit is required to refine your drawing/drafting skills for your paintings. An advanced drawing kit is for those who love drawing media and want to create finished artworks in drawing media. Lists and suppliers will be provided once you are enrolled, as well as a login to our Foundation Drawing Module.
Most participants are learning with quality acrylics, and suppliers of the best student and professional brands will be forwarded with lists of required pigments and tools. (There is the option to work in another medium if that is your preference, e.g. watercolours, oils).
As an optional extra, you can turn up with no materials, and we can also provide some for an extra (ad-hoc) fee to get you started and guide you in collecting the ideal selection of materials for your creative journey. Going to the art store in person or online can be an overwhelming and confusing event, with irritating or disappointing results if you don't have good knowledge before investing. With this alternative option, you can decide which is best for you and build your kit with more certainty going forward.
