This hands-on pasta-making class in Newcastle begins by creating the perfect pasta dough, turning simple ingredients like eggs and flour into smooth, silky sheets. The excitement builds as everyone shapes their pasta into delicate ravioli and intricate tortellini, each a tiny masterpiece.
Next, we’ll create flavourful sauces to perfectly complement your handmade pasta. Finally, it’s time to sit and enjoy our meal, transported to the sun-drenched hills of Italy through the authentic flavours of our pasta dishes, topped with some Parmesan and with a glass of vino of course!

Owner and Pastry Chef - Janet Newton
The passion for baking and cooking started in childhood for Janet Newton. The long Christmas holidays she spent baking with Czechoslovakian family friend, Irene. During this time the family was provided with an endless supply of traditional tarts, slices, biscuits and cakes.
The wonderful love of sharing food with family and friends was born out of these one on one cooking lessons and is the inspiration behind the opening of The Yellow Door Kitchen.
Janet trained as Pastry Chef at the famous Le Cordon Bleu cooking school and has many years’ experience working in restaurants and patisseries. Her ability to combine flavours and her passion for baking is infectious and will ensure students are transported into a wonderful, creative world of cooking during her classes.
