A JOURNEY TO THAILAND (Apr, Aug & Dec 2024)
Look no further than this 30-minute weekday cooking, perfect for dinner every time! Our unique Thai cooking class run by expert chefs provides you with the opportunity to gain an authentic experience in classic Thai stir fry making. We provide all the necessary ingredients, set up the high-heat stove and guide you through the process of prepping and preparing a delicious meal. With our step-by-step instructions, you’ll feel as though you’re actually in Thailand! The best part? Each dish is cooked quickly while still retaining vitamins and freshness to provide maximum flavor! Enjoy meat cut into ribbons and thinly sliced veggies that remain crisp. A JOURNEY TO VIETNAM (May & Sep 2024)
Embark on a culinary escapade to Vietnam with our express cooking class designed to bring the essence of Vietnamese cuisine straight to your kitchen! Join us for this weekday session where you'll discover the art of creating authentic Vietnamese dishes, perfect for a satisfying yet quick dinner every time. Experience the joy of crafting dishes bursting with authentic Vietnamese flavors while ensuring that each meal retains its nutritional value.Transport yourself to the bustling markets and aromatic streets of Vietnam as we guide you through recipes that capture the essence of this diverse and delicious culture. Our aim is not just to teach recipes but to immerse you in the vibrant tapestry of Vietnamese culinary heritage.
On the day:
Please arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled start time of the class. We cannot accommodate or refund those who arrive after the scheduled start time, even if you call ahead. The instructor will be expected to start on time and will not be able to repeat the health and safety and/or demonstrations at the beginning of the class. You are required to work with one another in the class.
Important information:
  • There are 4 menus for you to choose from and you can book one class a month or book all monthly classes. The price shown is per class per person.
  • We are able to cater to dietary restrictions with advanced notice (min 5 days before the event)
  • For rescheduling made more than 14 days prior to the event, there is no charge to change to your new date. After the first date change, there will be a charge of 30% of the ticket(s) value per date change. For rescheduling made within 14 days prior to the event, we can only accept changes due to you being sick and providing us with a current medical certificate. We will still charge $49 for administration fee.
  • No refund or reschedule will take effect (1) if you fail to arrive at the venue at the time stipulated, (2) if you voluntarily leave your class after it has commenced, (3) if you need to leave the event for reasons of bereavement, injury or illness. Travel insurance and medical insurance are therefore strongly recommended. We have a no-refund policy.
  • In the event that you are unwell, we ask that you send someone in your place. The participants who are not unwell will still be expected to attend and $49 administration fee applied.

Wear enclosed shoes and tie long hair back.
 
Suitable for

This class is great for individuals and couples as well as for a date idea, team building activity, Christmas party or hens party.

Suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 16 years old).

An adult must accompany any attending kids. The adult may observe at the class for free.

Otao kitchen is a cooking school and event space with a mission for people to come together to cook, connect, celebrate. We believe cooking and eating should be an experience, not just a meal. We created Otao kitchen as an extension of our passions to cook, share and inspire.
EXPERT IN COOKING CLASSES
Otao kitchen was launched in Melbourne, Australia in July 2014, with the goal of celebrating the rich and varied cooking experiences of Melbourne’s immigrant multicultural communities. Its founder, Chef Ha Nguyen, originally from Hanoi shares his passion for food, instructing customers in the exotic diaspora of Asian and around the world cuisine.

Today our guests can get inspired by cooking with our local and international chefs, listen to their cooking and travel experiences in Asia and around the world and bring some cooking and cultural tips and tricks home. With the nods at the diversity of communities within Melbourne, Otao kitchen features an array of global food experiences from Indian to Japan to Mexico and more.
In 2020 with the challenge of global Covid 19 pandemic, we set out to capture the curriculum of our hands-cooking classes and deliver it online to home cooks in Australia and across the world to guide you to cooking success and better health.
