53 minute train trip from Flinders Street station on the Belgrave line, or if driving take the exit off the Burwood Highway to Upwey. We are the first building next to the train station. There is plenty of parking in the free carpark located behind the IGA.
Your teacher
Hi, I'm Eloise! I hold a BA Degree in Textile Art from the Winchester School of Art, UK, and studied at MICA college, USA. I'm also currently undertaking my certification in Arts Therapy. I've lived in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges for nearly 20 year and have always appreciated the free, artistic spirit of the hills. At The Side Corner Creative Workshop, it's my goal to create a space that fosters this creativity and shares it with the wider community.I am a 'lots of fingers in lots of pies' type of person and have loved learning many skills over my 25+ years as an artist. This is why my workshops offer a variety of fun skills to try!In metal clay jewellery-making, you'll learn about various types of clay and metals, and discover techniques to create one-of-a-kind pieces with semi-precious stones. You'll be taken through the process from raw clay, firing, polishing and finishing.My printmaking workshops are a wonderful way to have a girl date, hens party or simply spend a Saturday arvo creating contemporary images. (You'll be so in love with them, you'll want to frame and hang them in your home.)I'm also in the process of developing a stained/fused glass sun catcher workshop... so watch this space!My classes will give you with the knowledge you need to continue practicing your newfound skills at home – even with limited materials.
