What you'll do

Looking for unique things to do in Sydney? Learn the tips and tricks for decorating cupcakes with photos at this hands-on class!

Are you one of those who when first saw "R U OK?" photo cupcakes and wondered how they are made? Have you been wanting to see your kid's picture on cupcakes mini as they take some along to school to distribute them to their friends on their birthdays?

Learn how that all is done with fondants. You will need to send a photo image of your choice via email to your teacher immediately after booking this class so that she can organize the edible images for you to work with on the class day.

While in the class, your teacher will show you how best to:

Roll the fondant and cut them to make fondant discs
Dry the fondant discs and get them to a state that they are ready for edible images
Tips to best stick the edible images to fondant discs irrespective of weather
Tips to place the fondant discs on top of cupcakes

You can send any good resolution picture to be used on your cupcake toppers - text or the image! It will be fun for you to decorate your cupcakes with your or your loved one's pictures.

The class will be hosted in the open kitchen at the lovely penthouse apartment overlooking wide-open views of the Sydney CBD.

There will be complimentary nibbles and herbal tea provided (based on the availability in the teacher's pantry) and the class will be concluded as everyone takes away the cupcakes topped up with personalized photos of their loved ones.

I have always had that intuitive urge to 'create' something with a purpose: a new vegetarian recipe, a cake that would still be calorie-friendly, a soap that would nourish my skin with essential oils, a paining that would tell a story of my childhood, a candle that would smell divine?

By day, I'm fully immersed in the world of ICT (Information & Communications Technology), helping product teams develop outstanding software applications that enhance user experiences. But during my evenings and occasional weekends, I find immense joy in hosting craft workshop experiences at my charming apartment in Sydney or setting up a picnic for you to celebrate your special occasion in style with my cutie vintage retro caravan somewhere in the Kangaroo Valley or Blue Mountains :)

It's my way of pursuing my passions (thank God I found a way), do what I love (or else no point yea), exercise my entrepreneurial skills (or at least I would think so), stay emotionally healthy (this one is real), meet new people (when Sydney reportedly is world's 3rd worst city to forge new friendships), and do my bit of raising funds for Dementia and promoting mental health. For I believe the new luxuries are truly the experiences, freedom and health.

In my journey of hosting these unique experiences in Sydney together with my partner Bob, we have come across a range of creative people, many of whom discovered things to be a fun hobby and some who have taken it further and started selling stuff online.
