If you asked teenage Pauline what she wanted to be when she grew up, I would've answered "a cast member on Saturday Night Live!" (which secretly I'd still love!). Alas, here we are, 18 years in, my career as a Qualified Hair and Makeup Artist has taken me around the world working in Germany, the UK and Italy.
Every day I have the joy of meeting someone new and be apart of their story, making a difference to not only how they look, but more importantly feel about themselves. This is what excites me to educate and help women better understand makeup so it is no longer a mystery, but embraced as the great tool that it is to enhance our appearance and confidence.
My experience and career has seen me backstage at London and Sydney Fashion Week, a crew member on countless TV sets, Music film clips, commercials, and collaborating on fashion and editorial shoots. I've worked on red carpet events such as The Arias, Logies and AACTA's with some of Australia's best talent.
Currently I freelance across numerous TV and production companies including the ABC and Network 10, working on The Project, Gruen, Question Everything and Playschool. And have previously worked on Married at First Sight, Today Show and A Current Affair to name a few.
I've spent many years teaching as a Qualified Makeup Trainer with a reputable Beauty College in Sydney, delivering Cert IV and Diploma material, and I am a volunteer with the Look Good Feel Better Program.
Its safe to say I've taken a bite out of every apple this industry has to offer, and I'm hungry for more. Best part, its just makeup, so I don't take it all too seriously, and I’m still making people laugh and smile, just like the cast of SNL. No flashing applause sign necessary.
