Hi, I'm Beck. I've been sewing since I was 10 years old, all self-taught. By the time I was 13 years old, I was pulling apart mum's lamp shades to sew the tassels onto my hand made jackets for a disco. Needless to say, my mother was not impressed.
I also teach crypto classes - scroll to the bottom for more.
I started to teach sewing at 21 when I was employed by Janome Gladstone as a sales consultant in QLD. I loved everything about the job, it also enabled me to also peruse my fashion design career. I ended up winning- fashions on the field, designer day wear and the bridal category.
I was wrapped, those nights waking up at 3.00am to sketch paid off.
I went into business back in 2003 with my then partner and opened 5 stores throughout Central Queensland. These were Sewing Machine & craft stores selling and teaching sewing machine, patchwork, dressmaking, quilting and kids' classes.
Our stores were amongst the top 10 in QLD for many years. Having won many awards enabled a lot of travel, both National and international.
A highlight of my career would be teaching in Florida, USA at the International conference.
I've recently moved to Pakenham Victoria and decided to start teaching again here in Victoria.
I can do 2 - 8 hour /day or weekend workshops in any of the following -
Patchwork
Quilt as you go
Paper piecing
Kaleidescope Quilt class
Overlocker workshops
Coverstitch workshops
Sewing machine classes
Thread painting workshops
Tuffet making workshops
Machine embroidery workshops
Janome embroidery software workshops
Heirloom sewing machine workshops
Plus many more!
I love to teach and have written all of my own patterns. I'm in the process of writing a book on all my lessons...this is on the back burner as I'd much prefer to get into teaching again. :)
You can find me in March at The shop of little shops in Pakenham teaching a variety of different classes.
Contact me directly if you would like me to come to your venue to teach a day workshop or even just a few hours.
Crypto is also my passion. I studied through IML master academy in 2021 mastering charts, indicators and anything to do with Forex. I then moved onto crypto, just in time for the last BOOM!
I studied a lot, basically anything and everything to do with crypto was my thing for the next 2 years. I sat up late, met all kinds of people through social media who had the same interests. I found myself walking around the back yard at 3.00am in the morning on conference calls with my teams in the UK. I was obsessed!
I started to teach crypto in 2024 when I flew to Rockhampton to launch a series of crypto classes for accounting firms. These were a hit and I still do them for accountants today.
I'm now focusing on the general public and anyone who, like me has an interest in crypto.
Come along to a 2-hour session and find out what it's all about. Like the internet, crypto in some eyes is seen as a scam, and it won't last. Well, I'm here to tell you that crypto has been around since 2009 and it's here to stay. Even Australian banks are on board with crypto. Why wait, the opportunity is now!
