What a pleasure it is to create your own origami flowers to display at home or gift to someone special!
There are many different types of paper flowers, but in this session, you will learn to fold origami flowers. Without even realising it, you'll pick up basic and traditional origami techniques in a relaxed and enjoyable setting. I'll share some childhood memories of origami, and you’re welcome to share your own stories - whether they’re creative or simply fun moments from your past. Let’s enjoy this time together!
You'll be amazed as a simple square sheet of paper transforms into something beautiful, bringing a great sense of satisfaction. This is a perfect activity to do with friends or family, so feel free to bring someone you love spending time with!
While some of these origami flowers may look intricate, you don’t need to be an advanced origami folder. Beginners can achieve these designs, and you’re welcome to make as many as you like or try out different shapes.
All the flowers will be attached to florist wire and finished with florist tape to create realistic stems to take home.

Growing up in Japan, I fondly remember my fascination and enthusiasm for origami beginning around 6 years old, when my father taught me to fold a paper crane.

Origami is an ancient cultural discipline, reflective of both the complexity and simplicity of nature and the world around us. Eastern philosophy teaches that mastery of technique takes practice, patience and time.
Whilst my origami pieces are based on tradition, I am influenced by my desire to combine both Eastern and Western design aesthetics.
I am challenged to explore and expand upon my knowledge of paper folding, and present my art works in a variety of formats. These include framed 3D works, Hanging works, Stand alone objects and gift cards.
I enjoy feedback from clients and customers. It inspires me to customise and personalise my work – and keeps me motivated to try new things.
My studio is a light filled work space in my newly built “Japanese –Australian” home, which I share with my Australian husband and two kids. Looking out upon my growing Japanese garden inspires me and this is something I try to convey through my art works – a sense of calm and serenity, the joy of nature, and the beauty in simple things.
