I grew up in Hokkaido, surrounded by stunning nature, and my mom was an Ikebana teacher. As a kid, I loved making flower crowns with weeds and street flowers—it was my little creative escape. But as I got older, I forgot how magical flowers and nature could be. When I moved to Sydney, I rediscovered that beauty and fell in love with creating wreaths and bouquets using locally grown flowers. It feels like coming full circle, back to the joy I had as a child.
Teaching allows me to share the joy I found in reconnecting with nature. There’s something so special about guiding someone to create their own beautiful arrangement and watching their pride and excitement. It’s like passing on a little piece of the wonder I felt as a kid making flower crowns. Plus, I love seeing people relax, have fun, and tap into their creativity—it’s the perfect escape from the daily grind!
Wreath-making is more than just crafting—it’s like meditation. You get lost in the textures, colours, and scents, and suddenly the stress of the day melts away. It’s a simple yet powerful way to reconnect with yourself and the natural world.
