Our flower workshops are designed for those with a love of all things "Bloomin' Marvellous" with an emphasis on basic elements of design and covering a range of techniques for an appreciation of Mother nature's beautiful creations and most of all having fun with flowers.
With an illustrious career spanning over 30 years, Bloomin Marvellous Flower Schools' founder Jemina has been lucky enough to collaborate with some of the best in the business and worked on many of Melbourne’s most prestigious events including the Melbourne Grand Prix Spring Racing Carnival and the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show.
Beginning her apprenticeship training at the renowned Myer Florist in the Melbourne city store to owning her own florist shop in the Mornington Peninsula at the age of 20.
Her passion for teaching was ignited when she joined the team as head teacher at Victoria Whitelaw School of Flowers. This is where the story has a new beginning, “Not everyone gets to have a career they love, I’m very lucky”. Being able to give back all that she has learnt over the years to up and coming students was very gratifying and left Jemina wanting to offer more. Jemina not only has her Certificate lll in Floristry but also attended night school to gain her Certificate lV in Training & Assessment – making her an accredited teacher.
That is when she returned to where it all began having been a floristry student at Box Hill Institute (many years before) and coming full circle by returning as a part of the teaching faculty.
December 2019 Bloomin’ Marvellous Flower School was launched Based in the leafy Melbourne suburb of Malvern, Bloomin’ Marvellous Flower School inspires people from all walks of life to celebrate the beauty of nature, have fun with flowers and take a moment to (quite literally) stop and smell the roses.
For Jemina, the biggest reward is seeing the smiles that transform her students’ faces after they’ve assembled their first bouquet – so pop into her light-filled studio and find some joy as you learn to arrange your own.
