Discover the magic of raffia strands transforming into a mini-basket under your hands with Anne Marie Godden!
Raffia is a natural, sustainable material. It is harvested without harming the tree and there is something it wants to become that only you can make.
Choose a ‘starter’ in your preferred colour to begin right away. You don’t need any previous experience. Your instructor Anne Marie will show you a weaving technique called ‘coiling’ that is the foundation for modern basket making.
Everyone has a signature style as a weaver. There is no right and no wrong. It’s all about the experience. Our weaving style is as unique as we are–-so unique that we can recognise each other’s work at a distance.
Whether you work in a quiet mindful way or chat with the other ‘like-minded makers’, you will come away with a handmade mini-basket in your own signature style and the skills to make other beautiful baskets.
Knowledge required
Beginner-friendly.

What you'll get
  • A mini-basket in your signature style and choice of colours.
  • A basket making needle and pin to keep, so you can continue to make!
