This is a relaxing two-session art course where you'll be learning how to mix beautiful colours for painting. Learn what primary and secondary colours are and how to mix them to create a colour chart.
You can use this colour chart as a reference in future paintings or work on a colour scheme for your house or be more playful with your clothes. It’s a great foundation. We then apply this colour chart to an abstract painting to see how colours relate to each other and how they create atmospheres and moods.
No prior drawing or painting skills are needed as your teacher will help you work on a pattern that you will then paint on the canvas with your new skills. Your teacher has also had 20 years working in art and disability.
You will also extend colour mixing to tertiary colours for this painting. To achieve this, you will learn how to mix and apply paint. Finishing the course with a colour chart and one abstract painting for your wall. This is done over two Saturdays consecutively from 10 to 12:30. The first week mixing then the second week your canvas painting.
Private classes are available in small groups, and one on one for beginners painting and drawing, they will be priced according to the number of students and length of time. The minimum amount of students is eight for the public program.

I am a multi- disciplinary artist and art tutor who has taught in a variety of mediums for over 17 years. My experience is broad, teaching in the community sector, disability arts sector and also at university. Recently I have been delivering classes on line through Zoom this added another platform for me to engage with students. Working with a wide variety of students has brought me different challenges and I have enjoyed that. I like to try and understand how people learn and make tasks achievable and fun. I want people to walk away with some skills that make them more confident in their own abilities, or just have people more attuned to the way they look at art, why they enjoy it or even why they don’t.
