You will take home about 1kg of handmade miso :)
Miso is a Japanese super food - delicious as soup, in dressings, or as an ingredient in vegetarian or meat dishes! It's created from rice using a safe fermentation process. Come and find out more!
Tomoko has a passion for traditional foods, running sushi and miso workshops in Sydney, and now on the Central Coast. She is always keen to share her love of Japanese food!
Course includes;
  • Hands-on lesson on how to make traditional Japanese miso
  • Tasting homemade miso soup
  • Tastings for 3-4 different dips using miso, such as lime miso, peanut butter miso
  • Tastings for 3-4 different aged miso and different variety of of miso, such as 3.5 yea aged miso, black bean miso etc
  • Japanese sweets with Japanese tea after the class
  • about 1kg of miso (to take home and mature for 4-6 months before use)
  • Recipes for how to make miso and miso dips..
We use organic soybeans, Australian sea salt and home-made Koji (Tomoko makes) to make miso..
Private workshops available by request.

Tomoko is a Japanese calligraphy artist, a miso maker and a language teacher based around Sydney and the Central Coast. Tomoko was born and grew up in Japan, and she have been living in Australia for about 6 years. Tomoko loves the beaches and natural landscapes here!
Tomoko loves sharing Japanese culture through Japanese calligraphy, miso making and Japanese language. She has conducted calligraphy workshops in schools and various venues in Sydney, the Central Coast and Melbourne, as well as giving demonstrations at karate dojos and at marketing events for private companies.
Tomoko also has a passion for traditional foods, running sushi and miso workshops. She is always keen to share her love of Japanese food!
