In this class, you'll learn how to design captivating Japanese-inspired manga characters in different poses, from simple pencil sketches to a final illustration in colour.
Your teacher, an experienced animation and anime lecturer, will show you how to draw the full body of your character and how to consider the right proportions in different angles and positions.
You'll get tips in developing your own unique style while looking to common and traditional manga styles such as kawaii, shojo, chibi and moe for inspiration.
Explore how to give your character a unique expression, hairstyle and clothing. You can even pick your favourite character concept design and finalise your illustration using professional markers, ink and brush-pen.

Beginner-friendly class, please note that this is a class for kids and teens only. Adults/parents cannot attend.

Hands on experience:
We are focusing on traditional art making and hand drawing/non-digital drawing!
Through this physical and tactile experience, you will get a broader view how this material can be used and this will also improve your hand-eye coordination as well as motor skills. Not to mention, traditional artworks are hard to copy, where each handmade artwork will show your personal, unique style!
What to bring
  • You only need to bring basic art materials such as a sketch pad (A3) and pencils.
  • Bring a bottle of water and a snack if you like!
