Class size 1 to 8 (public classes), 4 to 18

  $90 (Afterpay available)

Get ready to roll up your sleeves and unleash your inner potter in our platter-making pottery class in Marrickville! Join us in our stunning studio and craft something you’ll adore using slab, pinch, and coil techniques. By the end, you’ll have a show-stopping platter and dipping bowls perfect for your next gathering (cue the humble brag: “Oh, this old thing? Just something I whipped up…”). Expect a flood of compliments and experience the zen-like joy of hand-building—it’s meditation, but with a masterpiece to show for it!
We’ll dive into a world of platter shapes and textures, adding pops of colour and personality to your design. Master the art of slab building: rolling, cutting, joining, and jazzing up your creation with 3D decorations. You’ll also learn to play with textures using sculpting and trimming tools, then bring your platter to life with underglaze colours. We've seen people create everything from the marvellously minimal to illustrated 'Girl Dinner' trays and sculptural wonders.
Your guide? A seasoned pro who keeps classes cozy so you get all the attention you need. And hey, all this platter prep might just put you in the mood to celebrate. After class, stroll across the road to Marrickville’s legendary watering hole, The Vic on the Park, and toast to your newfound pottery prowess!
