Linocut and xylography (woodcut engraving) are hands-on techniques that, since their inception, have fulfilled the social function of informing the community of the events of a place. Thanks to engraving, we can see illustrations and read books from the year 1300 AD.
Your teacher, Miguel, will teach you the basic techniques of lino and woodcut engraving, their social role in history and how they contribute to the community through efficiently reproducing images and text.
Even if you're a beginner to linocut printing, Miguel can guide you step-by-step through the process, so you walk away with your own unique artwork to take home.
