Do you put pen to paper? If journaling is your jam then we've got the workshop for you.

Learn how to create hand made lush leather journals with a bookbinding guru. We'll guide you through the process step-by-step to create your own beautiful handmade leather journal with a long stitch spine.
You'll learn how to properly cut and measure leather, stab holes in it (a therapeutic experience), paper folding techniques and finally how to put it all together. You'll go old-school, learning traditional hand stitch your journal together.
Leave with the knowledge and fundamentals needed to take your skills to the next level. Visual diaries, portfolios, photo albums, the world is your oyster! No experience necessary, and all materials will be provided.
Bring a mate (or a date) and score ten bucks off each ticket!
Please note: This class requires at least five students to run. In the unlikely event that we don't get this number of students, we'll cancel the class and fully refund you and inform you via email, so please watch your email a few days prior to the class.

Please note: This venue is located on the first floor via a flight of stairs and does not have wheelchair accessibility.

Michelle (Mitch) Lackenby is Melbourne’s leading paper expert. A lecturer in the areas of Advertising, Graphic Design/Art and Photography and has always been obsessed with pushing the boundaries of art and design within the realm of paper and bookbinding. She has over 20 years of industry experience in creative fields which lead to the opening of her own business specialising in artist services, design and workshops. As the creative Director of Paperazzi Design studio, Mitch oversees the branding, photo shoots, art/design direction for the business. Mitch is also the resident Paper Artist for Paperazzi Design Studio where she collaborates with other artists and is currently working on the prototypes for their new product range.

We will inspire you to pick up that pen, paintbrush, hammer or sewing machine and flick the switch that will kickstart a whole new way of life.
Community values lie at the heart of our project. We collaborate with local artists and industry experts to teach classes and utilise local suppliers for any materials needed. We also provide a creative environment for emerging artists to produce and sell work, and meet like minded individuals. Work-Shop will be a space for everyone, with a rotating schedule of art shows, information nights on local issues and a whole range of events and community initiatives.
