Do you put pen to paper? If journaling is your jam then we've got the workshop for you.
Learn how to create hand made lush leather journals with a bookbinding guru. We'll guide you through the process step-by-step to create your own beautiful handmade leather journal with a long stitch spine.You'll learn how to properly cut and measure leather, stab holes in it (a therapeutic experience), paper folding techniques and finally how to put it all together. You'll go old-school, learning traditional hand stitch your journal together.Leave with the knowledge and fundamentals needed to take your skills to the next level. Visual diaries, portfolios, photo albums, the world is your oyster! No experience necessary, and all materials will be provided.Bring a mate (or a date) and score ten bucks off each ticket!Please note: This class requires at least five students to run. Michelle (Mitch) Lackenby is Melbourne’s leading paper expert. A lecturer in the areas of Advertising, Graphic Design/Art and Photography and has always been obsessed with pushing the boundaries of art and design within the realm of paper and bookbinding. She has over 20 years of industry experience in creative fields which lead to the opening of her own business specialising in artist services, design and workshops. As the creative Director of Paperazzi Design studio, Mitch oversees the branding, photo shoots, art/design direction for the business. Mitch is also the resident Paper Artist for Paperazzi Design Studio where she collaborates with other artists and is currently working on the prototypes for their new product range.

We’ve teamed up with Australia’s brightest creative minds to share their knowledge and help teach you a new skill. From 3D printing and stencil art through to music and gardening – life skills and personal development through to cooking doughnuts and mushroom foraging, we offer a broad range of fun and creative short courses to suit our time poor lives. We will inspire you to pick up that pen, paintbrush, hammer or sewing machine and flick the switch that will kickstart a whole new way of life.Community values lie at the heart of our project. We collaborate with local artists and industry experts to teach classes and utilise local suppliers for any materials needed.
