Want to learn how or improve how you paint but aren't sure how to start? This is really, actually for you!
Come and let's get right into the fundamentals of composing and developing beautiful, satisfying landscapes using tried and tested techniques developed over centuries and adapted to a contemporary aesthetic. Create paintings that grab attention and capture imagination.
You will learn how to free yourself from hesitation and trepidation. How to use expressive brushwork and vibrant colour palettes to liberate your vision. How the conscious consideration reflected light can capture fleeting moments and create modern, evocative impressionist landscapes.
I think everyone can create beautiful, inpiring art. I also think that we all need a reliable process to help us overcome fear and unlock our individual voices. This journey has inspired me to teach my process. It's simple, repeatable and anyone can follow it and build upon it, regardless of their level.
Embracing an art practice has significant mental health benefits, offering a meditative escape and a means to connect deeply with one's emotions and surroundings.
The course will develop over three live zoom sessions of 3 hours each, aimed at providing you the skills to choose, compose, and execute a figurative landscape painting in either acrylic or oil paint.

I was lucky enough to be born and raised amidst the rugged landscapes of Scotland. There I developed an early appreciation for light, colour, and form - inspired by the Impressionists.
My art employs expressive brushwork and vibrant, emotive colour palettes. I aim to invite viewers to pause and find respite from the constant stress of modern life.
I am often told by people that they have no talent or can't create art. This inspired me to teach art, developing a process that anyone can follow. Just like my teachers have done for me, I will help you to build upon to enhance your skills, regardless of your current abilities. Embracing an art practice has significant mental health benefits, offering a meditative escape and a means to connect deeply with one's emotions and surroundings.
