Learn the skills and techniques to create your own stunning acrylic painting in this landscape painting workshop!
Go beyond the paint and sip model and learn the fundamentals of acrylic painting so that you can confidently paint your own landscapes with your own set of high-quality acrylic paints and a set of brushes supplied in this workshop.
Guided by your teacher, Florence, you will start the day learning about the fundamentals of how to paint with acrylic paints, colour mixing, composition principles and light observation. You will then work on the class landscape project where you will complete a focused study on light and shadow so that you are able to look at any scene and create it realistically.
After an all-organic, locally-sourced lunch and coffee, you will begin your individual project on your canvas from a reference photo you bring or from one of the ones we have of the local area!
Using all the skills you learnt in the morning session and under the guidance of Florence you will create your own landscape painting that you will be proud to hang on your wall!

Florence is a visual artist based in Naarm, Melbourne. After moving from academia to the world of corporate in 2020, Florence finally got the chance to delve into her life long passion of art. Since she picked back up her paint brush she has gone from strength to strength exhibiting in group shows and solo exhibitions around Australia, including winning and being chosen as a finalist in multiple art prizes.

Florence’s 10 years experience in academia and childhood of painting lessons are clearly displayed in her workshops as she carefully guides and encourages each student to not just see their own work but actively analyse it and break it down into a sum of it own parts.
Florence hopes to encourage everyone to rediscover their childhood dreams and that there is nothing wrong to dream an artist's dream, even if you are a scientist!

The Old Auction House is an independently run multi-use arts precinct located in the regional Victorian town of Kyneton, just an hour north of Melbourne. Housed in a historic weatherboard building, which served as the much loved Ferris auction rooms for over 80 years, the precinct opened in April 2017 and is home to a variety of artistic spaces.
The Old Auction House is currently home to a retail shop specialising in quality Australian handmade items, four working artist studios including local glass artists Leadlight By Ettore, a teaching space for visiting artists, and two gallery spaces with rotating exhibitions.
The Old Auction House is open 7 days and the entire space has been renovated to be accessible for those with prams, wheelchairs, and mobility issues.
The Old Auction House has a focus on community engagement in the arts. Each studio runs a variety of classes with different artists and materials throughout the year.
