Kokedama Workshop

Make an ornamental Japanese moss ball plant in Sydney

1.5 hours Class size 12 to 60 guests     $60
Kokedamas, an alternative version of the bonsai, originated in Japan in the 1600s. A technique of planting where the roots and soil are wrapped in a ball of moss and decoratively bound by string to hold everything together.
Besides hanging from a string, these moss balls can be placed on decorative plates to be used as feature pieces. They are a breeze to dress up for special events and also make fantastic gifts!
In this workshop, you’ll learn the basics of how to make a Kokedama,  including how to mix your own soil, moss cultivation, plant selection, and care to ensure your mossy-ball survives and thrives. We’ll provide a selection of different plants and succulents for you to create your very own masterpiece.
You’ll get to make two of your own unique Kokedama moss balls to take home. Bring a mate (or a date) and score ten bucks off each ticket!
