Looking for fun things to do in Sydney? Get ready for some cosy knitting with Three Cats Yarn!
In this course, you'll learn how to knit socks from the cuff down over two lessons, with some homework in between.
You will first start with a 100g skein of hand-dyed sock yarn, wound into a ball, ready for you to start knitting.
In the first session, we'll cover:
  • The anatomy of a cuff-down sock
  • Which stretchy cast-on to use
  • How to cast on with your chosen needles in the round
  • How to knit the heel flap
Between your first and second session, you'll need to knit the cuff and heel flap. If you are short on time, consider making ankle socks.
In the second session, we'll cover:
  • How to turn the heel with short rows
  • How to pick up stitches and knit the gusset
  • How to knit the toe and cast off
If you book the class ahead of time, you are welcome to choose the colour of the yarn from the gallery above. However, if booking with short notice, you may be supplied with graffiti instead of your selection.

Knowledge required
This class assumes you know how to knit, purl, cast on, and bind off. The class will teach you about increases and decreases and knitting in the round if you are not familiar with these techniques.
