Hi! I’m Caitlin Lewis, jeweller and educator, and one of the resident artists at 26 Advantage Rd in Highett.
I have always been fascinated by materials, their properties and interactions. That’s what led me to study and teach chemistry, and it’s also been a real inspiration in my artistic practice.
When my family moved to the US in 2016, I had the opportunity to take a number of courses through the local arts centres and discovered my love of metalsmithing. I worked my way through every course on offer and ended up working as a jewellery instructor and studio coordinator. I started my business Clewdoodle in 2017, making and selling jewellery at local craft markets.
When we moved back to Melbourne in early 2022, I joined the creative community in the beautiful studios at 26 Advantage Rd. I love sharing my enthusiasm for jewellery making with others, and hope to provide knowledge, assistance and inspiration for a new community of makers here in Bayside Melbourne.
