Learn Japanese calligraphy in Umina Beach! Come and experience the art and enjoyment of writing Kanji (Japanese characters) with brush and ink.
In this class, your instructor, Tomoko will show you essential materials for Japanese calligraphy, and demonstrate several characters (Kanji). You will learn basic calligraphy skills and practice writing simple Kanji or your favourite Japanese word. Perhaps you'll even discover your passion for calligraphy!
This class is great for both individuals and groups. If you have an interest in Japanese culture, or you like calligraphy or trying new kinds of art, then you'll probably love this class! Everyone will make their own artworks to take home.

No knowledge of Japanese calligraphy (or basic calligraphy) needed.

Tomoko is a Japanese calligraphy artist, a miso maker and a language teacher based around Sydney and the Central Coast. Tomoko was born and grew up in Japan, and she have been living in Australia for about 6 years. Tomoko loves the beaches and natural landscapes here!
Tomoko loves sharing Japanese culture through Japanese calligraphy, miso making and Japanese language. She has conducted calligraphy workshops in schools and various venues in Sydney, the Central Coast and Melbourne, as well as giving demonstrations at karate dojos and at marketing events for private companies.
Tomoko also has a passion for traditional foods, running sushi and miso workshops. She is always keen to share her love of Japanese food!
